Thank you for your analysis on The Power & Glory today. I was hoping you would mention that on page 470 or 474(?) (I returned the book to the library 2 days ago) and that would be in the book that AJ is reading from, that Ercole Orlandi had given Ali Agca a pass or whatever to enter St. Peter’s Basilica. That was an eye opener! Emanuella’s father had given him the pass and later that day or the next day he shot the pope. Real interesting! Wonder if it is really true, and makes the connection between Emanuella’s abductors as to why they wanted the release of Agca. Also, in a previous show, you had speculated about JPII having an affair with Emanuela — after reading this book, Marcinkus would be a likely candidate and the pope, following his usual line, would have had to protect Marcinkus. Just my thoughts.
